Oak Mountain Winery
Sitting on 10 acres high in the Temecula Wine Valley, Oak Mountain is one of the higher-end wineries in the area. Their unique Wine Cave provides a one-of-a-kind tour and tasting experience. In addition to The Cave, the pet policy is one of the best in the valley.
Oak Mountain is a dog and equine-friendly winery. Leashed dogs are welcome on the winery grounds and in the tasting room. More than just welcoming dogs, proceeds from sales of their Windy Ridge and For Pete’s Sake wines get donated to two local nonprofits who care for dogs in local shelters. If you’re looking to support a dog-friendly winery, Oak Mountain is a winery that truly seems to care.
For horses, there’s a hitching post in the upper parking lot. Make sure you clean up after your animals.
Oak Mountain Winery has two tasting areas. Their standard tasting room is open daily, and their Cave Tasting Room is as well; however, the Cave is members-only on weekends.
- Hours: 11am-5pm seven days a week

Oak Mountain’s wine tour takes you through the vineyards and ends in their underground Wine Cave. In the vineyards, you’ll learn about the growing process and grape varieties. Next, you’ll go 104 feet underground to learn about the Wine Cave and how the wine is stored and aged.
After your 30-minute tour, you’ll end up at the Cave Bar. You can learn more about joining their Cave (Wine) Club or purchase any of the six wines you tasted during the tour.
Oak Mountain’s wine tour is unique. There aren’t too many wineries in California that take you underground as part of the tour. On a hot Temecula day, there may be no better place to cool off.
